Mission
As part of their relaunch, including the creation of a new website, the Neues Schauspiel Leipzig needed exceptional photographs that would capture the unique character of the theater and its people at their best. The images had to convey the level of professionalism expected from an independent theater of this caliber to finally secure the government funding they deserve.
Outcome
Together, we created a series of images showcasing the entire venue, including the theater itself, the pub, and the beer garden. Additionally, I captured the theater's leadership team in a series of black-and-white portraits.
A cultural gem
Neues Schauspiel Leipzig is a cherished independent theater nestled in the heart of Leipzig, Germany. For over a decade, this cultural gem has thrived without government funding, relying on its vibrant program of theater plays, concerts, poetry slams, and a beloved bar and beer garden. Run by a dedicated team who have nurtured the theater from its inception, Neues Schauspiel Leipzig has become a beacon of creativity and community engagement. However, despite its cultural significance, the theater has struggled to secure local government support, a critical need for its continued success and growth.
The theater's visual identity, crucial for attracting attention and conveying professionalism, had long been inconsistent. This visual disconnect was a significant barrier in their pursuit of financial support and public recognition. Determined to make a fresh start, the theater sought to overhaul its visual representation.
The theater aimed to create a more polished and professional image that could resonate with potential supporters.
As part of their relaunch, including the creation of a new website, they needed exceptional photographs that would capture the unique character of the theater and its people at their best.
Capturing the venue…
…and its people.
Particularly memorable was the star turn by Puschkin, the theater’s beloved dog, in the portrait series.
The dog’s inclusion wasn’t just a fun touch; it perfectly captured the theater’s warm, welcoming spirit and its quirky, endearing character.
With a consistent and impactful visual identity, Neues Schauspiel Leipzig is now better positioned to communicate its unique value and the dedication of its team.
Previously, their visual identity and photography lacked cohesion, but now they have a unified set of images that consistently convey a single identity across all audience touchpoints. The cohesive and professional imagery now presents a unified and compelling identity, enhancing the theater's appeal to potential supporters and funders.
