Joëlle is an up-and-coming Leipzig-based singer-songwriter. She needed portraits for her new website and social media, so I was happy to help her out. The goal was to blend intimacy and a natural appearance with a look that showcases her growth into a mature artist. Joëlle often describes her songs as "diary entries" — they're very personal. I wanted to reflect that in the portraits I took.

The result is a mix of black-and-white portraits with a slightly harsher edge and color portraits that lean more into intimacy. Most of the shots were taken with a 28mm lens, allowing Joëlle's audience to feel physically closer to her. The photoshoot took place at ISO studios in Leipzig.
